Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Copy and Content Editor to help refine our 45,000-word dog training book. The book is a unique blend of memoir, how-to guide, and training manual, written in an informal, humorous, and engaging tone. As our ideal candidate, you'll have a strong background in editing, excellent English and literary skills, and a keen eye for detail. Your primary focus will be to content edit and copy edit our manuscript, ensuring it's polished, error-free, and ready for publication on Amazon within the next 6 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content edit and copy edit a 45,000-word manuscript, focusing on clarity, coherence, and overall flow
  • Work closely with our team to ensure the tone and voice of the book align with our brand and style
  • Conduct a thorough review of the manuscript, checking for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors
  • Provide suggestions for improvement, ensuring the content is engaging, informative, and accurate
  • Meet the deadline for completion, with regular check-ins and progress updates
  • Complete a short sample edit (approximately 3 pages) as part of the application process

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of editing experience, preferably in the publishing or content creation industry
