Job Summary

As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a critical role in driving the success of our projects by providing accurate and comprehensive estimates, analyzing risks, and developing mitigation plans. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage estimates for complex projects, including resorts, theme park attractions, cruise ships, and other Disney expansions, encompassing site work, buildings, display elements, rides, interior fit-out, staffing, escalation, contingency, and more.
  • Independently produce conceptual estimates for initiatives with incomplete or ambiguous data, with minimal supervision.
  • Lead the estimating, negotiating, and settling of contractual trade orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and estimate project scope, labor, and materials based on specs, drawings, and pre-bid meetings.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide estimating, value management, analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Provide fee guidance, fee engineering, and options to design teams and project groups.
  • Review estimates for reasonableness based on historical experience and industry benchmarks.
  • Offer cost management and risk analysis throughout the project lifecycle, continually quantifying risks, developing mitigation plans, and forecasting the final project cost.
  • Effectively communicate complex financial and estimating information to audiences of varying levels.
  • Work with team leadership to develop project strategies, risk mitigations, and recovery/acceleration plans.
  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments on projects and issues, and recommend action plans to optimize success.
  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert (SME) to less experienced estimating personnel.

Primary Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of estimating and/or cost management experience, with a focus on projects of high complexity and growing professional responsibility.
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience specific to the hospitality or themed entertainment industry.

Education and Technical Requirements

  • A 4-year degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
