Walmart Connect is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Data Scientist to join our team and help reimagine the way we empower suppliers and sellers/marketplaces with cutting-edge omnichannel marketing and advertising tools at scale. As a Staff Data Scientist, you will lead the adoption of our marketing and advertising products across consumer segments and play a critical role in developing and improving our measurement strategies for display advertising.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Improve Measurement Strategies: Develop and improve display advertising measurement strategies across income lift, artificial control groups, ghost ads, MMM, MTA, A/B testing, and other areas.
  • Define Vision and Strategies: Define the vision and strategies for display advertising measurement methodologies, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives.
  • Build Collaborative Relationships: Build collaborative relationships with key partners by aligning priorities with business goals, communicating and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive management.
  • Manage Product Roadmaps: Manage product roadmaps, align business and technical needs, determine rollout strategies, and manage risks.
  • Communicate with Senior Management: Continuously interact with senior management and stakeholders to ensure alignments and manage interdependencies.
  • Explain Complex Modeling Concepts: Explain complex modeling concepts in simple terms and develop compelling narratives that connect modeling results with business problems.
  • Partner with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline data generation solutions and integrate disparate data sources to deliver actionable insights to partners and senior management.
  • Present Media Insights: Present media insights and recommendations to different levels of senior clients.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 6+ years of industry experience in data science, measurement, marketing strategy & analytics, Ad-Tech, Mar-Tech, or related fields.
  • Coding Skills: Proficient coding skills in SQL, Python, or R, and database knowledge.
  • Experience with Measurement Solutions: Experience building measurement solutions, including income lift, ghost ads, market mix, and multi-touch attribution models; extensive experience with predictive modeling algorithms.
  • Product Control Experience: Experience in product control or a related field.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, including managing technical resources and multiple priorities & milestones.
  • Agile Environment: Passion for working in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Collaborative Attitude: Collaborative attitude and experience of curiosity.
  • Business Judgment: Sound business judgment, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to persuade others internally and externally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. Degree: Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Experience with End-to-End Product Delivery: Experience with end-to-end product delivery, self-serve platforms, design, user experiences, automation, optimizations, and data analytics.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $160,000.00-$230,000.00 per year, as well as performance-based incentive awards and other notable benefits.
