We invite an Intermediate Software Engineer with strong backend expertise in Node.js and PHP to join our team. In this role, you’ll focus on building and maintaining core systems for our payroll platform, collaborating with other engineers to improve its performance, reliability, and scalability. Your work will help support a solution designed to make payroll and HR processes simpler and more efficient for thousands of customers.

✅ Is that you?

  • 3+ years of commercial backend development experience with Node.js and PHP
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB
  • Practical experience with AWS and familiarity with cloud best practices
  • Understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Experience writing unit tests and maintaining code quality
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Upper-Intermediate English level
  • Proactivity, motivation, autonomy, and accountability

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with payroll or HR system development
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker)
  • Experience collaborating in distributed teams with English-speaking stakeholders

Key responsibilities and your contribution

In this role, you’ll help develop and maintain core backend systems for a robust payroll platform, collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Build, maintain, and enhance core backend systems using Node.js and PHP
  • Design and implement REST APIs and work with MongoDB databases
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code, including unit tests to ensure functionality and reliability
  • Collaborate with team members to design features, troubleshoot issues, and solve problems
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality
