About the Role: Cloud Engineer - Remote Work Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our talented team of engineers who design, code, and deploy software that makes us an integral part of customer satisfaction in the digital life. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and highly available cloud services within our Hybrid Platform as a Service (PaaS). You will work with the latest technology and collaborate with talented engineers in an open, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical solutions to extend American Express' cloud platform, with a focus on building automation, to provide highly scalable cloud services.
• Collaborate with the rest of the API engineering team, UI engineering team, QA team, and product management to deliver high-quality, scalable API solutions.
• Explore and leverage the latest technologies and libraries that enable the development of lightweight products.
• Implement API/middleware solutions that integrate with NSQL, platforms, and partner systems.
• Implement best practices for software development, including maintainable code, usability models, code style compliance, integration, unit testing, and code review.
• Build working software, with a willingness to create new technologies to learn.

Essential Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Private Cloud).
• Experience developing REST APIs using GoLang and/or Google.
• Experience with Cloud Engineering, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Experience with NSQL databases.
• Knowledge of agile application development and general understanding of QE processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
• Knowledge of Agile application development and general understanding of QE processes.
