As a Senior Java Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex software systems, leveraging AI and ML to streamline operations and drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and drive technical solutions.
• Lead design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization.
• Develop and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspective.
• Utilize developer tooling and Azure tools and services across the software development life cycle to perform advanced-level Java application design, implementation, and maintenance activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices to improve processes within and across teams.
• Participate in continuous delivery and infrastructure as code, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of software systems.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Advanced programming experience with at least two modern languages, such as Java, C++, Python, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• Proficiency with AI/ML stack and libraries, with experience in shipping applied AI products.
• Proven understanding of micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs.
• Experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems, with a strong understanding of DevOps concepts and cloud architecture.
• Strong problem-solving ability and ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
• In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded:

• 4+ years of software development experience within a Java framework (J2EE, web containers, and Java).
• 3+ years of applied AI/ML experience, with a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions.
• 3+ years of experience with architecture and design, with a proven ability to lead technical teams.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service, with a strong understanding of cloud-based systems.
• 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks, with a strong ability to adapt to new technologies.
