Responsibilities
As a Virtual School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing remote social work services to students in Michigan. Your responsibilities will include:- Conducting remote assessments to evaluate students' social and emotional well-being
- Providing virtual counseling, behavioral support, and therapy to students with a variety of emotional needs
- Creating and implementing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Working with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop student support plans
- Participating in IEP meetings and assisting with student goal setting
- Maintaining accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:- A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
- A current Michigan Social Worker license from LARA
- School Social Worker approval from the Michigan Department of Education or a temporary approval (310 form)
- At least two years of experience in a school-based setting (preferred)
- Experience in providing virtual services (a plus, but not required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
