Job Description
As a tutor with College Tutors of Indiana, you will be responsible for providing academic assistance and guidance to students in grades 3-8, with a focus on math and reading. You will work closely with students, teachers, and school staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans, and provide regular progress updates to parents and guardians. Your role will be to help students build confidence, develop a love of learning, and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide academic assistance and guidance to students in grades 3-8, with a focus on math and reading
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans in collaboration with students, teachers, and school staff
- Regularly communicate with parents and guardians on student progress and provide regular progress updates
- Assist students in developing a positive attitude toward learning, studying, and academics
- Submit online/mobile Timesheets and session notes within 24 hours of completion of each session
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in tutoring and education
Essential Qualifications
* At least one year certificate from a college or technical school or currently enrolled in higher education institution
- Experience tutoring, either professionally or non-professionally, to colleagues or siblings
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to tutoring locations
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and teachers
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with students in grades 3-8
- Knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods for math and reading
- Experience with online tutoring platforms and tools
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
