American Traveler is seeking a qualified RN with telemetry experience for a cardiac unit in Michigan, requiring active MI licensure and strong cardiac monitoring skills. Responsibilities - Work in a 54-bed main cardiac telemetry unit of a hospital - Care for patients with heart failure, heart attacks (STEMI/NSTEMI), arrhythmias, strokes needing cardiac monitoring, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow - Majority of patients are on cardiac monitors, both remotely and on the unit - Administers and monitors cardiac drips - Uses Cerner Powerchart for electronic documentation; Cerner experience required - Day shift: three 12-hour shifts per week (07:00-19:30) - Required to work every other weekend - Must work two out of three major holidays during the assignment - Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals depending on census - Role involves direct cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and close patient assessment - New patient care assistants (PCAs) are being added to support the unit workload - Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Professional conduct is strictly enforced; issues may result in immediate contract termination - Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but efforts are made to accommodate preferences - Maximum of 10 days of requested time off (RTO); if RTO includes holidays, must work at least one holiday - Holiday coverage is based on major winter holidays - Modules are self-reported and must be completed prior to start Requirements - Active MI RN license required - Minimum one year of recent telemetry RN experience required - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (may be obtained before start or be pending) - Cerner Powerchart experience required - Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility - Return staff must be gone at least 3 years before returning as a traveler - Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start online modules within 1 week of signing assignment Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-632184.
