Responsibilities

  • Perform and seal structural steel design and detailing for heavy industrial facilities.
  • Perform structural analysis and system design utilizing FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Design foundations (spread footings, piles, mats) and concrete structures supporting heavy equipment and dynamic loads.
  • Review and approve steel fabrication shop drawings and erection drawings.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, electrical).
  • Perform site visits, field verification, and construction-phase support when needed.
  • Occasionally assist with proposals.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and documentation through technical writing that clearly communicates design intent and project progress.
  • Develop technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with designers to develop structural drawings.
  • Apply project management principles to ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Required Skills and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license strongly preferred.
  • 5–10 years of structural design experience focused on heavy industrial steel structures (power plants, mining facilities, material handling, chemicals, pulp and paper, renewables, etc.).
  • Thorough-level knowledge of AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318.
  • Proven experience designing and detailing braced and moment frame structures in heavy industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in STAAD, RAM Structural System, RAM Connection, or similar tools.
  • Comfortable reading and red-lining shop drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Front-End Loading (FEL) studies is a plus

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Benefits:
