• Cryptocurrency tax reporting and compliance
• U.S. tax preparation for individuals and businesses
• IRS/agency resolution
• Strategic tax advisory and treasury reporting

• 20+ contributors across 8 countries

Who You Are

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in U.S. tax preparation with a focus on reviewing
• Deep familiarity with Drake Tax Software (non-negotiable)
• Adept at identifying errors, inconsistencies, or gaps in tax filings
• Comfortable reviewing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S
• Confident in U.S. tax law and regulatory requirements
• Strong communicator with the ability to offer constructive feedback to prep team members
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, async environment

Bonus Points For

• Experience reviewing crypto-related tax returns (DeFi, DAOs, NFTs, staking, etc.)
• Familiarity with Karbon or other practice management tools
• Previous experience in distributed or startup tax teams
• Interest in advancing into advisory, planning, or training roles

Key Responsibilities

• Review tax returns prepared by internal team members for accuracy and compliance
• Verify the completeness and correctness of supporting documents and financial inputs
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to preparers when corrections or improvements are needed
• Maintain organized documentation and contribute to process refinement
• Stay up to date on tax law changes, IRS updates, and crypto-related guidance
• Collaborate with team leadership to uphold standards and improve team performance
