Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking an Associate Competition Economist to join their Economics Team. The role involves conducting data-driven economic analyses in legal and regulatory proceedings and providing expert advice on competition policy matters.

Responsibilities

  • Create dashboards and tools to automate processes, generate reports, and guide product decisions
  • Curate and validate data to ensure quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the domain, business goals, and data infrastructure context
  • Develop metrics to track and evaluate solution deployment across teams

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field (Statistics, Data Science, Business, Finance, or Public Policy), or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in econometric modeling and statistical analyses, using standard statistical software such as Stata and R
  • Master's degree in Economics or a related field (Statistics, Data Science, Business, Finance, or Public Policy)
  • 1 year of experience in regulatory or litigation proceedings at an economic consulting firm, competition agency, or technology company
  • 1 year of experience in antitrust
