Technical Director Intern, Global Technology – Summer 2026
The Walt Disney Company is offering a Technical Director Intern position at Pixar for students passionate about animation. As a Global Technology Technical Director, you will collaborate with other TDs to enhance workflows through software development, supporting the storytelling process.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with other TDs to write software that improves workflow and provides film-specific functionality for other departments, including lighting and animation
Skills
- You possess programming skills in C/C++ and/or a scripting language such as Python
- Your educational background helps you demonstrate an understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, lighting, texture, and form
- You have experience using 3D software packages like Houdini, Maya, Katana, RenderMan, etc
- Experience using Unix/Linux systems
- Minimally a junior in college working towards a BS or MS in computer science, computer graphics, digital art or a related technical field
- Recent grads who are within the first year post graduation are eligible to apply
- You already possess the legal right to work in the United States
- This is a full-time position. You must be available to work on-site Mon 6.1.26 - Fri 8.21.26
- A demo reel demonstrating your sense of aesthetic
