Development Coordinator, Gift & Estate Planning

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Development Coordinator for their Gift and Estate Planning unit to support frontline fundraising efforts. The role involves donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship, as well as assisting in the implementation and coordination of development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of new unit initiatives that advance UBC`s strategic plan
  • Ensures that appropriate donor recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship programs are in place
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding and expert use of the University's donor and alumni database
  • Participates in on-going fundraising planning and practice and process development
  • Writes donor/prospect solicitation materials and correspondence
  • Researches and drafts fundraising proposals for senior management for presentation to donors
  • Develops unit analytical reports as requested by manager
  • Ensures processing of donor gifts, pledges and receipts
  • Develops and maintains processes and procedures as needed
  • Needs to accommodate flexible hours, attending events
  • Performs other related duties as required

Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience or education
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one's own
  • Demonstrate a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Effective computer skills
  • Proven ability to interact effectively and positively with staff, managers and donors
