Director, Learner & Alumni Communications

Position Summary: The Director, Learner & Alumni Communications will lead a team in the development and continuous improvement of communications directed to learners and alumni. The incumbent will develop and execute a clear strategic communications plan for both audiences in conjunction with leadership of the College and Alumni Relations. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Create a communication plan that more fully aligns the learner's perspective with the value proposition of their nursing program.
  • Lead development and continual improvement of communication on myNightingale portal.
  • Research, write, and edit information on Learner/Alumni communications processes, procedures and policies.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations for communication processes such as software use, collaborator training, and information distribution.
  • Develop and maintain regular communication to inform current learners of relevant news and information supporting the College's engagement, retention, and completion goals.
  • Edit information written by other team members, revising, rewriting, and reorganizing for clarity, comprehension, use of language, tone and voice, sequence of thought, logic, flow, consistency, effectiveness, and medium.
  • Develop guidelines and direct implementation of writing, editing, and distribution of information on services, programs, and procedures to learners, Learner & Alumni collaborators, and other collaborators as needed.
  • Manage projects for learner communications such as College deadlines, new policies, new system training, and programmatic changes, etc.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with College Leadership stakeholders to ensure consistent voice/tone and messaging.
  • Assist in development of internal reports, plans, and presentations.
  • Supervise Learner & Alumni Communications collaborators.
  • Develop and oversee communication strategies that promote additional programs and offerings to current learners and alumni.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant field (mass communications, digital communications, higher education management, public relations, journalism). Graduate degree preferred.
  • Ten years' experience in college-level communications or equivalent.

Budgeted Hiring Range $128,000—$135,000 USD All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will cover travel, lodging, and other accommodations.
