Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional intern to join our Quality Control Standards and Guidelines team as a Data Analyst. This role will play a critical part in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying trends and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with our team to analyze data, create reports, and develop recommendations to enhance our processes and drive business growth.

Responsibilities and Expectations

As a Data Analyst intern, you will be responsible for:

• Performing and assisting others in the Quality Control team in ideal data collection, validation, and analysis on data components.
• Assisting in creating and presenting results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
• Exploring ad-hoc requests arising from emerging maintenance issues and providing logical answers to enable Senior Leaders to make informed business decisions while balancing existing project responsibilities.
• Presenting insights, trends, and potential recommendations by utilizing data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
• Assisting in creating and disseminating specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources, establishing the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
• Identifying irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and conveying findings to the team.
• Assessing the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors.
• Ensuring that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision.
• Performing other work duties as directed by Group Leader.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A strong ability to gather, organize, and analyze large amounts of data with precision and care.
• The capacity to effectively listen, understand, and communicate thoughts and present them in writing, verbally, or through presentations delivered to discussions of varying audiences.
• The ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred.
• The ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
• The ability to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is preferred.
• Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework is preferred.
• The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, help/group-focused environment.
• The ability to focus on responsibilities diligently and be a self-motivated individual.
• Past internship experience in a related field is preferred.
• The ability to manage sensitive and confidential data appropriately.
• The ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
