Key Responsibilities

As a customer service agent at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and assisting all customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner over the phone and in person
  • Announcing both incoming and outbound flights
  • Handling credit card and personal check transactions with accuracy and properly accounting for all collections and conducting the appropriate airline close-out procedures
  • Accepting and processing checked baggage weighing up to 100 lbs. and placed on conveyor belts
  • Operating jetways to place them in position prior to aircraft arrival and lifting, opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors
  • Using airline computer systems to provide flight arrival and departure information, ticketing and flight boarding documents, lost or damaged baggage documentation, and cargo tracking information
  • Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport
  • Working independently without direct supervision

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, and a high degree of attention to detail
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone
  • Possess entry-level computer skills
  • Occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds
  • Pass an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check required by federal law
  • Be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous customer service experience in an airport or airline environment
  • Experience working with airline computer systems
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
