Key Responsibilities:

As an Experienced Customer Service and Sales Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing expert product knowledge to assist with their purchases
• Learning about products using our tools and providing information to customers to sell an entire project
• Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department, as well as handling basics in adjacent departments
• Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
• Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty
• Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments
• Participating in sales promotions, events, and training programs to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices

As an Experienced Customer Service and Sales Representative, you may work in one or more of the following store departments:

• Building Materials
• Décor
• Electrical
• Flooring
• Garden
• Hardware
• Kitchen & Bath
• Lumber
• Millwork
• Paint
• Plumbing
• Tool Rental

Position Types:

We offer various position types within the Customer Service and Sales team, including:

• Department Sales
• Lead Generator
• Pro Account Sales
• Sales Specialist

• Customer Order Specialist

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• 1-2 years of experience in customer service or sales, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
• Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly about new products and services
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting sales targets and providing exceptional customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

• Previous experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment
• Knowledge of building materials, tools, or other products related to our industry
• Experience with sales software or other technology platforms
• Certification in customer service or sales, such as the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Sales Professional (CSP) designations
