DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Select and utilize a repertoire of all types of music that are appropriate for age and skill level of pupils.
- Plan, rehearse, and direct pupils in musical programs for school and community.
- Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
- Evaluate pupils musical growth and performance; prepare progress reports for students enrolled in orchestral activities and make suggestions for improvement.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding pupils progress or concerns regarding pupils.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve an atmosphere in the classroom conducive to learning and an orderly environment during group rehearsals and performances.
- Organize and maintain school-owned music, instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse; makes minor adjustments and requests repairs for instruments as required.
