[Remote] PHP Junior Developer

They are seeking a motivated Junior Developer to build and maintain their government-focused ERP solution, ideal for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience with both legacy and modern technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop responsive web user interfaces using PHP, Javascript and CSS
- Write and optimize SQL queries for accessing ERP data
- Create and maintain PHP backend applications
- Implement data binding and user interaction logic to connect front-end forms with backend services
- Collaborate with senior developers to achieve product outcomes
- Perform unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability
- Debug and troubleshoot application issues across the full stack
- Document code, technical processes, and user interface specifications
- Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and daily standups
- Assist in deployment activities and version control management using Git
- Stay current with the web ecosystem updates and best practices for web development
- Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and problem-solving
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with SQL query writing and relational databases
- Solid understanding of PHP and object-oriented programming principles
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Understanding of data modelling, relational database concepts and normalized data structures
- Knowledge of Accounting, Payroll, and Billing concepts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency in prompt engineering and working with agentic AI coding assistants
- Ability to effectively communicate technical requirements and debug AI-generated code
- Skills in iterative prompt refinement to achieve desired coding outcomes
