Graduate Engineer-Civil
Ulteig is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to support renewable development projects, specifically in wind and solar energy. The role involves performing routine engineering tasks and collaborating with experienced engineers on various projects, focusing on construction plans, structural designs, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of construction plans and specifications of utility scale wind, solar and/or Battery storage (BESS) renewable projects
- Assisting in the preparation of structural designs and drawings for solar foundations and support structures
- Conducts project specification research to determine applicable building codes and ensuring specific project requirements are addressed in the design
- Works closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers on multiple projects as assigned
- Complete typical civil design tasks including design calculation reports, grading and erosion control plans, construction details, and stormwater management design
- Design and production in AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Prepare project quantity take-offs for civil design of renewable energy projects
- Support and develop project permit applications
- Technically involved with the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or observations
- Complete work as assigned by project discipline leads, including performing necessary design calculations, drafting reports, and design plan preparation
- Provide technical comparisons and similar technical work within the assigned market
Skills
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Ability to apply standard engineering principles and practices
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
- Prior engineering internship experience preferred
- Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience desired
