Job Description

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. With over 100,000 colleagues globally, we are the world leader in serving science. Our Digital Science and Lab Automation Business Unit delivers innovative informatics software, laboratory automation platforms, and integrated digital solutions that empower scientists and researchers to work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.

As part of our EMEA Commercial Team, you’ll play a key role in helping customers accelerate scientific discovery across diverse industries — from pharmaceuticals and biotech to clinical research, food safety, and manufacturing quality assurance.

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) for Laboratory Informatics and Automation Solutions is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities within assigned territories. This includes laboratory software (LIMS, ELN, and data management systems) as well as automation and robotics platforms that streamline laboratory workflows.

You will work closely with Account Managers, Marketing, and Technical Specialists to qualify leads, manage inbound and outbound sales activities, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of laboratory informatics software and automation solutions, including laboratory robotics, workflow management systems, and integrated digital platforms.
  • Proactively manage the sales cycle—lead generation, qualification, discovery, and closure—across assigned territories.
  • Conduct outbound campaigns and follow up on inbound inquiries to identify customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with Field Account Managers and Product Specialists to coordinate territory strategy, product demonstrations, and joint sales calls.
  • Maintain accurate sales activities and opportunity tracking within Salesforce CRM.
  • Provide consultative guidance to customers, aligning software capabilities with laboratory workflows and compliance needs.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Build strong customer relationships to foster loyalty and long-term partnerships.

This position offers excellent career development opportunities within a global leader in serving science, with the added benefit of gaining international experience in the dynamic and diverse EMEA market.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or computer science discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in software, SaaS, or laboratory informatics and automation solutions.
  • Proven success in outbound sales, pipeline development, and closing business remotely.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com and virtual engagement tools (Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Experience selling to scientific, technical, or IT stakeholders is strongly preferred.

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial approach to growing accounts.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the laboratory and research market in EMEA is a strong plus.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (10-25%) for team meetings or customer visits.
  • Multilingual capabilities are a plus.

Why Join Thermo Fisher Scientific

  • Be part of a global leader in laboratory digitalization and automation.
  • Work in a collaborative, innovation-driven culture that values integrity and excellence.
  • Access continuous career growth and professional development programs.
  • Enjoy competitive compensation, performance-based incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Make a meaningful impact by supporting scientists, researchers, and healthcare professionals who are shaping the future of science
