Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Customer Service Representative to support our members and providers by delivering an exceptional service experience through inbound and outbound call handling, benefit inquiries, and care facilitation. This role is critical to ensuring seamless access to healthcare services, benefits clarification, and proper documentation across internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing service to members, providers, and clients regarding healthcare benefits, claims, eligibility, and program inquiries
  • Handling high-volume inbound and outbound calls while maintaining PHI confidentiality
  • Educating providers on EAP services, authorization status, and claim details
  • Navigating internal systems to log and update patient/caller information accurately
  • Participating in training, remaining up-to-date with operational changes, and supporting continuous improvement
  • Demonstrating compassion, flexibility, and responsiveness to customer needs and inquiries
  • Assisting in identifying and escalating crises or critical issues when necessary
  • Supporting team engagement and assisting with performance and quality improvement initiatives

Must-Have Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience (preferably in a call center setting)
  • Adequate hardwired internet connection (minimum 100–300 Mbps; no Wi-Fi or hotspots)
  • Secluded and distraction-free workspace
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

While not required, having the following skills will make you a strong candidate:

  • Healthcare background (e.g., UnitedHealthcare, Kaiser, Caremark)
  • HIPAA knowledge
  • Familiarity with benefit administration or EAP support

Education

We require a High school diploma or GED, and an Associate's degree is preferred.

Work Schedule

As a remote-based organization, we offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs. Our standard work schedule is:

  • Start time: 8:00 or 8:30am
  • End time: 4:30 or 5pm
  • First 26 days on assignment consist of training and introduction to the role
