As a Senior Security Architect, you will turn compliance guidelines into business requirements. You will also shape tech specs and frameworks for use by internal teams and external accessors. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, you'll learn how Akamai's web-scale systems work. Guiding the company to efficiently meet our security obligations.

As a Senior Security Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the technical aspects of security integrations from creating/updating configurations, testing, debugging, and deployment
  • Analyzing customer web traffic, being a proactive technical consultant for our customers, delivering value with every engagement
  • Customizing Akamai security solutions to address potential threats and vulnerabilities for our Security Business Unit
  • Providing service to help mitigate DDoS attacks for our customers
  • Participating in training initiatives to develop your skills, reviewing/improving the security posture of our existing/new products
  • Monitoring current security standards and monitoring advancements in information security technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, another related field or its equivalent
  • Have experience with bot mitigation and web application firewall
  • Possess a deep understanding and knowledge of protocols such as DNS and HTTP/HTTPS
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding of DDoS and associated attack vectors
  • Have experience with industry compliance and security standards including PCI and GDPR
  • Demonstrate knowledge of application security, such as Security event management, Real Time Traffic Analysis or Security Compliance
  • Be able to review system designs, identify security risks and suggest ways to mitigate these risks
  • Be experienced with scripting languages such as SQL, Python, Go

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
