Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, Utilities

The Business Development and Partnerships team helps plan Waymo’s dynamic future and drive the company’s go-to-market strategy. We work cross-functionally and leverage quantitative and qualitative analysis to build forward-looking partnerships that deliver on Waymo’s strategic business objectives. As a member of this entrepreneurial and results-oriented team, you will have a significant impact on defining, developing and executing Waymo’s commercial deployment.

In this hybrid role, you will report to Head of BD & Strategic Partnerships, Infrastructure

You will

  • Develop and execute on an overall strategic plan to deepen Waymo’s partnerships with utilities in existing and future markets
  • Develop and maintain utility-specific partnership plans that outline Waymo’s current and proposed projects, business objectives, and other relevant details.
  • Create, nurture, and maintain business relationships with executive stakeholders at top utilities with the goal of accelerating energization timelines, shortening lead times, and unblocking our partners and internal teams working to develop Waymo’s charging infrastructure
  • Establish best practices and develop internal systems to facilitate Waymo’s work with utilities across teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones to define partnership strategy, solve complex problems, execute business initiatives, create work plans, lead analysis, develop and communicate final recommendations to move partnerships forward
  • Represent Waymo and the partnerships team at high priority industry conferences and events
  • Identify, create, negotiate and implement effective partner agreements that drive results across the Waymo partnerships ecosystem

You have

  • Experience in partner management, partner development, or account management.
  • Experience working with executive stakeholders at utilities
  • Experience working within a technology, EV, or AV company
  • Experience leading partnership programs
  • Experience working cross-functionally within an organization and driving decision-making

We prefer

  • 8+ years of experience in partner management, partner development, or account management.
  • Experience building strong relationships with executive stakeholders at utilities.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and highly collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams and ability to influence at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize, plan and implement key activities.
  • Excellent communication and superior analytical skills, meticulous in following-up, able to deliver results under pressure, and keen presentation skills.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process.

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
