Product and Analytics Analyst

They are seeking a Product and Analytics Analyst to assist in the design and development of analytical models, provide execution insights, and collaborate with sales teams to optimize trading quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of robust analytical models to extract meaningful insights from large financial datasets
  • Calculate and report on explainable venue metrics, ensuring internal and external stakeholders understand the 'why' behind the data
  • Track existing KPIs and venue features to identify performance gaps and opportunities for technical or logic-based improvements
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to provide participants with feedback and data-driven recommendations on how to optimize their execution quality within our venue
  • Help prepare sophisticated reports, dashboards, and presentation materials that translate complex data into a clear narrative for trading participants
  • Support the team in preparing for high-level client engagements regarding market structure and venue-specific trading dynamics
  • Actively develop an understanding of US equity trading and market structure, assisting senior members in analyzing regulatory changes and their implications
  • Work across product, sales, and technology teams to ensure our data strategy aligns with broader TMX organizational goals

Skills

  • 1–2 years in a relevant analytics role with a track record of driving strategic impact (FinTech or Capital Markets experience is a plus)
  • Experience using SQL to query large databases is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and data visualization (Superset, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Exceptional ability to translate 'data-speak' into clear, strategic recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You are a creative thinker who looks beyond the spreadsheet to see the 'big picture' of execution and business growth
  • Superior qualitative and quantitative skills with a relentless eye for detail and execution
