Remote · USA Full-time New today

R1 is the leading provider of technology-driven solutions that transform the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems, and medical groups. We are the one company that combines the deep expertise of a global workforce of revenue cycle professionals with the industry’s most advanced technology platform, encompassing sophisticated analytics, AI, intelligent automation, and workflow orchestration.

As our Insurance Discovery Specialist, you will support R1’s Insurance Discovery product and a growing client base by verifying and loading platform-discovered patient insurance coverage into R1 and client host systems—improving billing accuracy, reducing denials, and increasing revenue recovery. You will manage a coverage work queue, research eligibility, coordinate with payers and provider teams, update patient records, and follow client SOPs/documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance. You’ll also support metrics/reporting, recommend process and product improvements, and serve as a liaison between clients and internal coverage loading teams by leading training, updating documentation, and translating client/Product/Operations requests into clear, consistent coverage loading workflows.

  • Proficiency with Excel is required; willingness to learn basic SQL (training is provided)

  • Collaborative, flexible mindset; be comfortable with change and occasional extended hours

  • Results-driven and motivated with a strong drive to succeed and a follow-through mindset

  • Reliable, engaged, and committed to process and product improvement and client outcomes

  • Highly collaborative and enjoys partnering across teams

  • Strong learning mindset—curious, adaptable, and eager to build new skills
