Territory Sales Manager - Door Division (New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island)

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Meet sales objectives and execute division sales strategy within assigned territory
  • Maintain Executive Management Relations and provide customer account support / service
  • Develop sales relationship with all door personnel
  • Provide Product Training and Support and Coordinate VT online training and usage
  • Provide industry and product specific training to distributors
  • Communicate product offerings and updates and provide technical support
  • Provide accurate and timely market intelligence and monthly sales / committed projects reports
  • Conduct job-site inspections and provide quality claims reports
  • Assist with credit information and collection
  • Monitor and track major projects
  • Utilize marketing direction and materials to enhance sales
  • Identify opportunities that will increase sales in the territory, communicate these opportunities to the appropriate managers
  • Perform duties listed within the designated budget and perform duties as directed by the supervisor
  • Build relationship with the Inside Team based on trust, respect, and appreciation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must reside in the sales territory with a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • 5+ Years Inside and/or outside “on the road” sales experience in building products industry
  • Knowledge of architectural specifications, product and industry are required, and prior industry and product specific understanding of the wood door and millwork industry is preferred.
  • Inside and/or outside sales experience in architectural products
  • Willing to travel overnight 2-3 nights per week with a travel requirement of 50-75%
  • Excellent computer skills and adept at using Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and OneNote.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional public speaker
  • Skilled in negotiations, organization, time management, problem solving, consultative selling and presentation skills. Must have high speed internet access
  • High integrity and relationship building while supporting company policies and procedures
  • College degree or relevant experience
  • All team members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct to the highest standards as well as to adhere to the Attendance Policy of VT Industries

Physical Requirements

Tolerance for sitting long periods of time.  Possess finger dexterity to write and type.  Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal.  Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional moderate lifting (50 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required.  Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties. Ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
