Key Responsibilities

Solution & Architecture Leadership

  • Design and deliver high‑quality, end‑to‑end technical solutions that address complex customer business problems.
  • Ensure architecture, design, and implementation align with enterprise‑level standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Own solution architecture from concept through implementation, ensuring quality, scalability, and security.

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with customer‑side enterprise architects, business partners, and technology leaders.
  • Work with Cognizant account managers to shape and present solutions that align with customer needs and objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and point of escalation for architectural and technical decisions.

Engineering Enablement

  • Partner with application development teams to guide implementation according to approved architecture and design standards.
  • Ensure adherence to architecture principles throughout development and delivery.
  • Review designs and code to ensure high quality, security, and maintainability.

Standards, Governance & Quality

  • Ensure solutions are compliant with customer enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks.
  • Design application security solutions, including authentication and authorization, across on‑prem and cloud environments.
  • Promote best practices for scalability, reusability, and cloud adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise‑level software application development.
  • Prior experience in the Life & Annuity insurance domain (mandatory).
  • TOGAF certification (mandatory).
  • 8–10 years of hands‑on experience architecting, designing, and delivering large‑scale enterprise applications or initiatives.
  • Full‑stack development experience using Java, Tomcat, Spring Boot, React, BPM engines, Rule engines, API Gateways, and SQL databases.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and architecting microservices‑based solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS and/or Azure), including:
    • Cloud‑native application development
    • Migration of applications to cloud
    • Automating self‑service cloud products and services
  • Experience with greenfield application development, leveraging enterprise and cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of application security architecture in both on‑prem and cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with end‑to‑end DevSecOps automation, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of container technologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building.
