Grant Writer – Independent Contractor (1099)
About CR Sustainability, Inc. CR Sustainability, Inc. is a growing waste management and sustainability operations company providing on-site waste sorting, diversion, and materials recovery services for large venues and events. We operate at major stadiums and event facilities across the U.S. and are committed to advancing sustainable waste practices at scale. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer on a contract basis to identify and pursue grant funding opportunities aligned with our sustainability mission. This is a project-based engagement with potential for ongoing work as our portfolio grows.
What You'll Do
- Research and identify applicable federal, state, local, and private foundation grants in the areas of waste management, materials recovery, sustainability, and circular economy
- Assess CR Sustainability's eligibility and competitiveness for target grants
- Draft and submit compelling grant proposals and supporting materials
- Track application deadlines, reporting requirements, and award status
- Communicate progress and opportunities clearly to company leadership
Ideal Background
- Demonstrated experience writing and winning grants in sustainability, environmental, waste management, or infrastructure sectors
- Familiarity with federal programs and relevant state/local funding sources
- Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Compensation & Engagement Structure
- This is a 1099 independent contractor role
- Hourly rate commensurate with experience; open to discussing retainer or project-based structures
- Fully remote; flexible schedule
