Job Description
We are seeking a high-energy, results-oriented PR Strategist to join our team and elevate our clients’ brand presence through high-impact media placement. This is a pivotal role for a specialist who understands that modern PR is about more than just sending press releases—it’s about strategic storytelling, deep journalist relationships, and securing placements that move the needle. The ideal candidate is a "go-getter" with a proven track record of navigating the media landscape. You should possess a "test-and-learn" mindset when it comes to pitching and have the communication skills to interface confidently with both journalists and clients. As a growing agency, we are looking for someone who can take true ownership of our PR efforts and drive measurable authority for a diverse portfolio of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Media Relations:
Act as the primary bridge between our clients and the media. You must actively maintain and leverage a robust network of journalist connections to secure consistent placements.
- Strategic Pitching:
Develop and execute creative, high-angle pitch strategies that resonate with editors at top-tier media sites and industry-specific publications.
- Placements & Execution:
Responsible for the end-to-end PR lifecycle—from identifying "hook" opportunities and drafting compelling press materials to securing high-authority mentions and features.
- Client Interfacing:
Serve as the PR expert, confidently presenting media strategies, sharing placement wins, and cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders.
- AEO & SEO Integration:
Work closely with our SEO and content teams to ensure PR efforts contribute to digital authority, backlink profiles, and visibility in AI-driven search engines (AEO).
- Reporting & Analysis:
Provide regular performance reports that go beyond "mentions." You will analyze the impact of earned media on brand sentiment and organic growth.
Qualifications
- Experience:
2+ years of hands-on experience specifically within a PR agency or a dedicated PR role. A proven portfolio of placements on top-tier media sites is required.
- Skills:
- Journalist Connections:
You have an existing "rolodex" of contacts and a deep understanding of how to build new relationships with reporters, editors, and producers.
- Exceptional Writing:
Ability to draft professional, punchy, and persuasive copy under tight deadlines.
- Communication:
Amazing verbal and written communication skills; you must be able to pitch with persistence and poise.
- Analytical Rigor:
Ability to track PR metrics and translate them into clear business value for clients.
- Attributes:
High attention to detail, a proactive "can-do" attitude, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment. Bonus Points (Nice to Haves)
- Experience with AI-assisted research tools to identify trending news cycles or journalist interests.
- Experience with PR software such as Cision, Muck Rack, or Meltwater.
- Understanding of how PR impacts search engine rankings and brand "entity" authority.
