Job DetailsJob Location: Nashville - Nashville, TN 37212The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) invites applications for the position of Human Resources Manager. This role serves as the operational leader of the Human Resources function, supporting the Chief Officer of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources in executing strategic priorities and overseeing day-to-day HR service delivery. This role manages core HR operations, supervises HR staff within a shared services model, delivering high quality HR services to affiliated ministries and entities. In addition, the HR Manager is responsible for implementing HR programs and serving as a primary HR partner to assigned client organizations. This includes supporting leaders with employee relations, recruitment, HRIS utilization, performance management, and policy application. The role ensures consistent, compliant, and effective HR service delivery aligned with organizational goals and the mission of the General Agencies of The United Methodist Church. GCFA serves The United Methodist Church through financial and administrative ministries that enable the fulfillment of the mission of the Church. The HR Department provides comprehensive support to multiple denominational agencies, annual conferences, and affiliated ministries across the United States and globally, as well as additional support to other UMC entities as needed. Essential Functions: Manage daily HR operations including full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, HRIS administration, employee relations, and performance management for assigned affiliated ministries and/or client organizations. Partner with hiring managers to ensure alignment with workforce needs and hiring standards. Provides supervision, direction, and performance management to team of HR Professionals. Ensures alignment with service delivery expectations and departmental priorities. Works closely with the management team to assist in the development and implementation of strategic organizational effectiveness initiatives. Serve as primary HR contact for assigned affiliated ministries and client organizations, to managers and employees providing guidance on employee relations, policy interpretation, performance management, and HR best practices. Escalate complex or high-risk issues to the Director or CHRO as appropriate. Execute HR programs across assigned affiliated ministries and client organizations, including performance management processes, employee engagement efforts, and compliance initiatives. Support and facilitate HR-related training for managers and employees across multiple entities, ensuring consistent understanding of policies, procedures, and best practices. Manages HRIS functionality and supports both internal staff and affiliated organizations in system usage. Ensures data integrity, reporting accuracy, workflow implementation, and user training. Resource the Committee on Personnel Policies and Practices, including providing general staff support as well as expertise on updated/new personnel policies and practices for the GAUMC employees. Assist in providing policy oversight of the staff providing day to day management of the human resources and benefits information system to maintain benefit, salary, and absence information for GAUMC employees, related information for bishops, and benefit information for retirees.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field required. Master’s degree in human resources management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field is preferred. PHR certification (or equivalent) preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft applications preferred. 4-5 years of human resources generalist experience is required. Skills in HRIS technologies, recruitment and selection, and compensation management preferred. Additional Considerations: Allows for remote work. Travel required up to 25%.
