Back End Engineer

Join us as a Back End Engineer This is an opportunity for a technically minded Software Engineer to join NatWest Boxed You'll be working with new and innovative technology to deliver high impact solutions Hone your existing software engineering skills and advance your career in this critical role What you'll do You’ll join one of the core cross-functional mission teams to build and develop the NatWest Boxed technology product. We will look to you to develop clean, elegant and reusable code that is well-tested and easy to maintain and extend. You’ll also: Work with stakeholders across the business to drive the direction of NW Boxed engineering and put the long-term interests of customers at the heart of key decisions Collaborate across our backend chapter to uphold standards, best practices and to promote innovation Work collaboratively with the team to resolve technical issues Support and oversee junior engineers and act as a subject matter expert The skills you'll need You’ll need a strong background in software engineering, software design or database design and architecture. You should have solid practical and theoretical knowledge of Java software development as well as strong experience of Spring Boot / Micronaut. You’ll also need: An understanding of Kubernetes / Docker An excellent understanding of AWS deployment and configuration Experience working with message-driven architectures / Kafka / event sourcing Experience working on a highly secure application An understanding on how to translate business objectives into data driven insight Hours 35 Job Posting Closing Date: 30/04/2026 Ways of Working:Remote First Apply To This Job
