AI Video Editor (Performance Creative) Role Overview We’re hiring an AI-native Video Editor who can produce high-converting, performance-driven ad creatives at scale. This is not a traditional editor role. You will be responsible for turning raw ideas, UGC, and concepts into scroll-stopping ads using AI tools, fast iteration, and CRO-driven thinking. Your output directly impacts CPA, hold rate, CTR, and conversion rate. Core Responsibilities Creative Production Edit short-form videos for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Build ads using UGC footage, AI-generated scenes, stock, and hybrid content. Create multiple variations per concept with different hooks, pacing, and angles. AI-First Editing Use AI tools to generate scenes, b-roll, and backgrounds. Enhance footage through upscaling, cleanup, and relighting. Create motion graphics and animations while rapidly iterating creatives without relying on traditional production. Performance Optimization Edit with a focus on hook strength within the first 1 to 3 seconds, retention curves, and clear CTA delivery. Follow structured formats such as hook to pain to solution to demo to proof to CTA. Build multiple versions for A/B testing. Creative Iteration Produce multiple variations per concept and iterate based on thumbstop rate, hold rate, and conversion performance. Quickly identify underperforming creatives and scale winning variations. Platform-Specific Editing Adapt editing styles for each platform including TikTok-native pacing with fast cuts and raw feel, Meta-focused structured storytelling for conversion, and YouTube Shorts optimization with looping and retention-focused hooks. Required Skills Strong editing experience in tools such as Premiere Pro, CapCut, or After Effects. Experience using AI tools such as Runway, Pika, Midjourney, or Stable Diffusion. Understanding of UGC ad formats, direct response creative, and short-form storytelling. Performance Mindset This role is not about making visually appealing edits alone. The focus is on selling, converting, and driving revenue. You should naturally think about improving hook rate, stopping scroll behavior, and increasing conversion probability.

Nice to Have

Experience working with DTC brands such as supplements, apparel, or CPG. Familiarity with TikTok Shop creatives and whitelisting ads. Basic understanding of CRO principles and consumer psychology. Output Expectations Daily output ranges from two to five completed creatives with a weekly target of fifteen to thirty variations. Speed and iteration are prioritized over perfection. Working Hours Daily QA or sync window is between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM PST with asynchronous production outside of that timeframe.

Compensation

Starting range is four to eight dollars per hour at a VA level, with performance-based increases tied to creative output and contribution to winning ads.
