As a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer, you will be working with a team of talented bioinformatics engineers and scientists to create and maintain bioinformatics pipelines to advance Helix’s mission. You will play a leading role in designing and implementing reliable and innovative solutions in a highly regulated environment. As a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer, you will: Develop, maintain, and document bioinformatics pipelines in a regulated environment. Architect and maintain supporting infrastructure in AWS. Analyze and generate data insights to support the development and improvements of existing and new bioinformatics algorithms. Design and develop test cases and test scripts. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of regulatory documentation as part of the design control process. About you: B.S. or M.S. Technical Degree (e.g. Computer Science, Bioinformatics or similar). 3 years of relevant industry experience. Experience with developing NGS bioinformatics pipelines. Proficiency with Python. Experience with Cloud computing environment. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Open to learning new skills and not afraid to step outside of the comfort zone. Pluses: Experience with software development under CLIA/CAP regulations and/or FDA regulations is a big plus. Experience writing test cases and test scripts. Experience with Jira and JAMA. Experience with Claud Code and development with AI. Expected Interview Process: 1) Recruiter Screen 2) Manager Screen/Tech Screen 3) Onsite 4) Offer Expected Pay For This Role: There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary 2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity Expected Helix Base: $134,000 - $179,000 Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 10% of your annual salary Equity: We offer generous equity at Helix. Day 60 - 90: you’ll build your OKRs with your manager, start to take ownership of projects and initiatives on your team, and begin to demonstrate your impact on the Helix mission.
