Senior Underwriter - Contract Surety (Texas) Job Summary Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter specializing in Contract Surety to join a growing team. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and underwrite contract surety risks in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess risk and determine appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, and clients to support business growth and retention.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to underwriting policies.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental and organizational goals through effective risk management and decision-making.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract surety underwriting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis, credit evaluation, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in underwriting and financial analysis.
