POSITION SPECIFICS The Eberly College of Science Biology Department at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking qualified candidates for an Administrative Support Assistant - Senior level position. This position will provide administrative and financial support by performing the following tasks: Collecting and organizing necessary documentation such as receipts, travel information, and related materials to submit to the appropriate financial hubs for processing. Serve as a liaison between the Research Office, the financial hubs at both the college and university levels. Provide backup support to the Administrative Manager for budget-related functions and processes. Processes include supplemental pay requests, commitment monitoring, and occasional auditing of financial processes. Pull data in preparation for budget meetings with faculty at the department level. Routine and regular communication with faculty members and other members of the Biology department. Track software request forms, grant end dates, and communicate with pcard holds on outstanding tasks. The ideal candidate should possess: Strong investigative skills with the ability to use creative thinking to improve existing and develop new duties and business processes. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle multiple priorities, monitor, and meet overlapping deadlines. Positive, professional, and efficient work style. Initiative, collegiality, accuracy and promote a culture that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse team members. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Associate Degree 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. SALARY & BENEFITS The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
