Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs, and providing assistance to sell entire projects. You'll learn about our products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions. Your success will be measured by your ability to greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, as well as your ability to handle basics in adjacent departments.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments

Specific Job Types

* Department Sales: Focus on selling products and services within a specific department

  • Lead Generator: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth
  • Pro Account Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with professional customers to drive sales growth
  • Sales Specialist: Provide expert knowledge and support to customers to drive sales growth
  • Special Services: Provide specialized services to customers, such as installation and repair
  • Customer Order Specialist: Assist customers with placing orders and resolving any issues that may arise

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or similar environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or similar environment

  • Experience working in a sales-driven environment
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and equipment
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
