Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales representative at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our customers, assessing their needs, and providing assistance to help them achieve their goals. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring that they are clean, shop-able, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs and providing assistance to help them achieve their goals

  • Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring that they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or building materials environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or building materials environment

  • Experience working in a team environment and providing excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction processes
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
  • Experience with sales software and technology
