Job Title: System Admin/Tester Location: Remote Duration: 12+ Months Interview Mode: Video Responsibilities: Role Scope / Deliverables: System Administrator: Install SAS on Linux servers (dev, val and prod environments). Recreate cron jobs. Create a new file share. Test handoff between LIMS, SAS processor, and file shares. Ensure all functionalities from the current Windows system are recreated in RHEL. Test a number of assay scenarios in a development environment. Testing Analyst: Test all existing assays in a validation environment. Assist with UAT if required. Complete all testing documentation per SOP. Key Skills: Linux (RHEL), scripting, cron jobs, some limited java potentially, system and validation testing Project Overview: We are currently running a statistical processor (SAS 32 bit) on physical Windows 7 32 bit machines. Assay jobs are created in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), sent to the SAS processor via cron job, calculated, and then results are sent to a network file share and back to the LIMS. We need to install a newer 64 bit SAS package on RHEL 8 virtual servers and ensure that all 160+ assays can run in this new 64 bit environment. Rigorous validation testing will be required to ensure all assays return the same results in the 64 bit environment, and we anticipate validation testing will be the most time-consuming part of this project.
