Job Summary

As a Remote Healthcare Billing and Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in helping patients and their families understand their medical bills and find affordable solutions. You will work as an extended business office representative on behalf of our clients, providing exceptional customer service, empathy, and understanding to patients over the phone. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Using empathy and fantastic listening, verbal, and written communication skills to help patients and their families understand confusing and often unexpected medical bills
  • Providing outstanding customer service and collaborating with patients over the phone on affordable payment plans and taking payments by phone
  • Using your computer proficiency, organization, and attention to detail to accurately document all calls and follow-ups in our software systems throughout each day
  • Supporting your fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and caring team focus
  • Continuously improving, with supportive coaching/feedback from your manager and team leads and ongoing training

What You'll Do:

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and resolving account balances

  • Collaborate with patients to create affordable payment plans and take payments by phone
  • Accurately document all calls and follow-ups in our software systems, ensuring timely and efficient communication
  • Support your fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and caring team focus
  • Continuously improve your skills and knowledge, with supportive coaching/feedback from your manager and team leads and ongoing training

Essential Qualifications:

* 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in healthcare billing or customer service

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and billing processes
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
