Job Description
The Senior Application Database Administrator plays a key role in designing, supporting, and improving cloud-based databases that power modern applications. This person partners closely with engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to ensure databases are reliable, scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. This is a hands-on role with strong technical leadership, where you will guide best practices and help teams build solutions that work well in cloud environments while supporting business-critical applications. You will report to the Software Development Agile Developer. Responsibilities: Lead the design, performance, and reliability of cloud-based, application-facing databases Partner with engineering teams to build scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient database solutions Guide best practices for database design, schema changes, and performance tuning Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, leading root cause analysis when needed Implement standards, guardrails, and automation to improve database operations Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across engineering and database communities Qualifications 7+ years of experience working with application databases or in DBA roles, including cloud environments Strong expertise in at least one relational database platform (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) Hands-on experience with cloud-managed database services and modern architectures Advanced skills in SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting Experience supporting production systems and making sound technical decisions independently Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams Additional Information Our uniqueness is that we celebrate yours.
