Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative – Financial Assistance Counselor, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families navigating financial assistance programs. You'll work closely with our revenue operations team to resolve billing and collection inquiries, provide detailed documentation and reports, and track trends of customer service encounters. Your expertise in financial counseling and experience with the Epic medical billing system will be invaluable in ensuring our patients receive the support they need.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families navigating financial assistance programs

  • Handle various self-pay and insurance billing and collection inquiries
  • Assist patients in resolving billing issues and provide detailed documentation and reports
  • Track trends of customer service encounters and identify areas for improvement
  • Resolve independently or escalate issues affecting customer complaints
  • Perform communication and follow-up processes related to customer service
  • Collaborate with the revenue operations team to ensure seamless resolution of billing and collection inquiries
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

* High school diploma or Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field and successful completion of arenaflex Trainee program

  • At least one (1) year of experience and relevant knowledge of revenue cycle functions
  • Experience in a complex, multi-site environment preferred
  • Financial counseling experience needed
  • Experience with the Epic medical billing system needed
  • Previous service/call center experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills in interacting with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and operate keyboard and telephone effectively
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Completion of regulatory/mandatory certifications and skills validation competencies preferred
