About the Opportunity The Relocation Tax Specialist I is a technical role focused on the intersection of global mobility and financial compliance. You will be responsible for managing expense processes, communicating vital payroll data, and delivering accurate program cost reporting. A key component of this role is ensuring tax compliance for client relocation programs through gross-up calculations and year-end payroll tax reconciliations. You will act as a bridge between IT, finance, and client tax partners to drive automation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance: Accurately calculate tax gross-ups and determine taxability for diverse relocation expenses; stay updated on evolving tax laws to ensure compliant payroll reporting.
  • Payroll Coordination: Lead year-end payroll tax reconciliations and issue timely reports for U.S.-based clients; manage global payroll data reporting in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Reporting & Auditing: Audit financial reports and payroll submissions for data integrity, clarity, and accuracy; manage client-specific reporting needs to ensure financial transparency.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Respond to complex queries from clients, associates, and transferees regarding financial reporting; liaise with IT to develop and maintain client-specific system interfaces.
  • Operational Excellence: Support the onboarding of new clients into the expense management system; partner with management to implement automation and standardize invoicing processes.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial role; prior experience with U.S. or global payroll is highly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial and auditing principles, as well as taxability concepts related to relocation.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong problem-solving abilities, and a high degree of conflict resolution skill.
  • Organization: Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage strict deadlines and high-volume data in a team-oriented environment.
  • Customer Service: Commitment to providing high-quality service to clients and relocating employees.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $52,000 – $60,000 annually.
