As a Customer Care Pharmacy Technician, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, providing information, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for our clients.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Customer Care Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Answering customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Providing information about products and services, including pharmacy services and federal healthcare programs
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and transactions
  • Handling medium to large call volumes on a consistent basis
  • Responding to customers via phone, email, and internet
  • Authorizing and overriding emergent fill medication for veterans and Marshal inmates
  • Generating faxes and emails
  • Updating requested doctors to POC lists
  • Updating requested formulary changes
  • Setting up and updating new clinics for the VA
  • Assisting Account Managers with new pharmacy USM detainee RX program
  • Medical claim questions
  • Contacting jail facilities to verify inmate information
  • USMS support (eligibility, PA's, and record changes)
  • Clarifying information on formulary for the VA
  • Handling prior authorizations from VA Pharmacy and rejections from retail pharmacy
  • Training new staff
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

* High school graduate or equivalent required

  • One to three years of related experience in a pharmacy environment or pharmacy customer service center
  • Active TX Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required at hire
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in English
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a pharmacy environment or pharmacy customer service center

  • Knowledge of pharmacy services and federal healthcare programs
  • Ability to work with a team of colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Work Environment:

* Remote work environment with occasional in-person training sessions

  • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time
  • The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature
