You will oversee a small team of archivists and technicians, ensuring the highest standards of care for the collection. Responsibilities include developing and implementing archival policies and procedures, managing the digitization of film assets, conducting provenance research, and responding to research requests from internal and external stakeholders. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You will also be involved in grant writing and reporting for preservation projects, and liaising with external conservation specialists when necessary. Experience with various film formats (35mm, 16mm, digital) and their specific preservation needs is essential. Proficiency in archival management software and databases is also required. The ability to identify and mitigate risks to the collection, such as environmental hazards and material degradation, is paramount.
