Respiratory Therapist-South Carolina (Contract)
About the position We are hiring Respiratory Therapists and Certified Pulmonary Function Testing Technicians to perform simple spirometry testing (pre/post albuterol) at primary care clinics in Columbia, Myrtle Beach, and Upstate/Greenville areas of South Carolina. This role is ideal for RTs who value flexible, daytime-only work, clinical autonomy and independence, and strong relationships with patients and clinic teams. The responsibilities include performing pre/post simple spirometry testing with a handheld device, preparing and coaching patients through testing to ensure comfort and accuracy, accurately grading each effort and uploading results remotely for physician review, monitoring patient safety during procedures, maintaining testing equipment and following quality and safety protocols, and representing Crosswalk Health professionally at each clinic site. The ideal candidate is dependable, reliable, flexible, adaptable, personable, professional, a team player, and passionate about respiratory care and delivering excellent patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre/post simple spirometry testing with a handheld device
- Prepare and coach patients through testing to ensure comfort and accuracy
- Accurately grade each effort and upload results remotely for physician review
- Monitor patient safety during procedures
- Maintain testing equipment and follow quality and safety protocols
- Represent Crosswalk Health professionally at each clinic site
Requirements
- Must have experience performing bedside or complete PFTs and understanding possible side effects of albuterol administration
- Proficiency in respiratory therapy practices, procedures, and terminology
- Comfortable working independently and traveling locally (within a 45 minute radius)
- Available two to five days per week
