Our client, a globally recognized leader in cloud computing and data center innovation, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a remote-first environment and is passionate about designing the next generation of high-performance server and networking hardware. You will be responsible for the complete hardware design lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to bring-up and validation, focusing on systems deployed in large-scale data centers. The role requires extensive experience with server hardware, high-speed digital design, power delivery, and thermal management. You will collaborate with a distributed team of world-class engineers, driving innovation in reliability, performance, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Architect, design, and validate custom server and networking hardware for cloud infrastructure. Perform schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and component selection for complex boards. Conduct high-speed digital design, signal integrity analysis, and power integrity analysis. Develop hardware bring-up procedures and execute testing and validation plans. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues encountered during development and deployment. Collaborate effectively with firmware, software, and systems engineering teams in a remote setting. Contribute to the definition of hardware requirements and roadmaps for future cloud platforms. Work with vendors to evaluate new technologies and components. Document designs, test results, and technical specifications clearly and concisely. Mentor junior hardware engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 10+ years of experience in server hardware design or related areas (e.g., networking, storage). Proven expertise in designing complex multi-layer PCBs and understanding their implications on signal and power integrity. Strong knowledge of high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR, Ethernet). Experience with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout oversight. Familiarity with hardware validation methodologies and test equipment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective remote collaboration. Experience with ARM or x86 architectures is a plus. Knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations is beneficial.
