Work Environment

This is a fully remote position based in Durham, North Carolina, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the attending physician for residents at assigned skilled nursing facilities, providing high-quality, patient-centered comprehensive care.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to oversee day-to-day resident care, ensuring continuity and efficiency in treatment.
  • Conduct patient rounds to diagnose and treat both acute illnesses, such as infections, and chronic conditions, including diabetes and heart disease.
  • Document patient interactions and care plans using our proprietary electronic health record system, ChartEasy™, in addition to commonly used EHR systems such as PointClickCare and MatrixCare.
  • Engage in initiatives such as Chronic Care Management and Transitional Care to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize online medical tools and resources, contributing to administrative functions such as completing death certificates when necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus The physician will primarily work with residents in skilled nursing facilities who require comprehensive primary care services. The role demands a compassionate approach to patient interaction, fostering meaningful connections and trust, which are vital for effective care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, with a current valid medical license.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in primary care, geriatrics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records systems and telemedicine technologies.
  • Previous experience working in post-acute care settings is advantageous.
