An established and reputable banking institution is seeking a strategic and experienced Remote Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead its enterprise-wide risk management function. This role is fully remote, enabling you to direct risk strategies from anywhere while collaborating with executive leadership and regulatory bodies. The CRO will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework, encompassing credit risk, market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and compliance risk. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks to protect the institution's assets and reputation. Key responsibilities include establishing risk appetite statements, developing stress testing scenarios, overseeing internal controls, and ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will advise the Board of Directors and senior management on risk-related matters and foster a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization. The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree (MBA, Masters in Finance, or equivalent) and possesses extensive experience (15+ years) in risk management within the banking or financial services industry, with a significant portion in a senior leadership capacity. A deep understanding of banking regulations (e.g., Basel III/IV, Dodd-Frank), risk modeling, and financial markets is essential. Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills are required to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
